New or used Switch 2: which is worth it in Egypt?
Published 30 Aug 2026
A used Switch 2 in good condition typically saves a quarter of the price of a new one. That is worth it if the console has been tested and the report published; it is a gamble if condition is described only in adjectives.
What new actually buys you
- Every accessory, unused and still in its packaging
- No wear on the battery, sticks or screen
- A seller who stands behind the word “new” — at Re:Safeplay, a seal sticker and 14 days on defects
What used actually costs you
Battery capacity is the one thing that always declines and cannot be inspected by eye. Everything else — scratches, a worn stick, a failing fan — is visible to a test. That is why battery health is a separate line on our report rather than folded into a general condition word.
The honest rule
Buy used when the seller can show you what is wrong with it. Buy new when they cannot, or will not.
